International. According to a new market research report from BCC Research, high-performance ceramic coatings in North America were valued at $1.1 billion in 2012 and increased in 2013 to nearly $1.2 billion.
The study forecasts that the market will grow to nearly $1.7 billion in 2018 and recorded a five-year compound annual rate of growth of 6.6% from 2013 to 2018.
According to BCC Research, the modification of surfaces using ceramic coatings has achieved some prominence in the industrial environment in recent decades. This class of high-performance coatings constitutes a mature industry, but one that continues to grow with a wide list of current and potential applications, continuously emerging coating techniques and a growing list of material compositions.
The structure of the ceramic coatings industry from raw materials to end-user products includes ceramic coating consumables, coating system suppliers, workshops providing coating services, and end users, including those with in-house coating facilities.
