According to El Financiero, the Costa Rican market is dominated by four competitors: Pintuco – owners of Kativo and producers of Protecto, Glidden and Vastalux – Grupo Sur – Sur and Koral – Comex and Lanco, which has forced other national companies to negotiate in neighboring countries, in the region or even in South America.
