International. Argex Titanium Inc. announced a long-term supply agreement with PPG Industries related to titanium dioxide (TiO2), a pigment suitable for some final PPG applications.
The jointly executed supply agreement and research services agreement between PPG and Argex, whereby PPG will provide support in continuous research and development, both to optimize Argex's TiO2 pigment grade for paints and coatings and to combine PPG's technology and coating expertise with Argex's proprietary TiO2 processing technology, replaces the collaboration agreement signed by the two parties that was announced in April 2012.
Previously, PPG manufactured titanium dioxide using the chloride process at its former chemical plant in Natrium, West Virginia, and sold titanium dioxide pigment for coatings and other end-use applications.
