Peru. Peruvian holding company Brescia acquires control of Tricolor, Chile's leading paint producer. The business operation was carried out through the subsidiary Inversiones Breca with the purchase of 63.97% of the Chilean firm from the Larraín group.
Roberto Lehmann, general manager of Tricolor, informed the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance that "Chacabuco SA, Inversiones Sodeia Cinco and Agrícola Las Loicas, sold, ceded and transferred to Inversiones Pinturas Sur III Limitada, a Chilean company controlled by the Peruvian holding company Inversiones Breca, whose final controller is the members of the Brescia Cafferata family, the company Inversiones Inverpint, which owns 63.97% of the subscribed and paid capital of Tricolor".
The agreement allows the Brescias to acquire 80.42% of the firm from the company's majority shareholders, and then launch a Public Offer to Acquire Shares (OPA) to reach 100% of Tricolor. According to this company, the acquisition of the agreement is estimated at about US$96 million.
Grupo Brescia, through Compañía Peruana de Productos Químicos, produces and markets paints, protective coating systems, adhesives and other chemical products for the construction, marine, industrial, automotive and household products sectors.
