Mexico. The paints and coatings of PPG were used in the main barracks of the Bioconstruction and Alternative Energy building in the city of Monterrey, the first in Latin America to achieve the LEED Platinum category Certification as a new construction.
The 5,000-square-meter building, located in the suburb of San Pedro Garza García, used the multinational company's paintings on the interior and exterior walls, as well as coatings on beams and metal structures.
For the interiors PPG provided the Speedhide paint, which offers exceptional features in coverage. While outdoors, it can be applied on a variety of surfaces with good circulation, leveling and curing at low temperatures.
Another product was the Pitt-Tech DTM, which was used as a coating for structures, providing corrosion protection and chemical and impact resistance in light and moderate industrial applications. Both coatings are formulated with low VOC, which allows to comply with environmental regulations.
