International. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is inviting coating manufacturers, architects, and engineers to participate in the development of a new standard proposal for the organization, ASTM WK34014.
This standard would refer to the procedures for determining the properties of the Dry Fall anticorrosive coating and is being developed under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee D01.46 on Industrial Protective Coatings, which is part of the International Committee D01 on Paints and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications.
"Dry Fall anticorrosive coatings are manufactured and sold by a large number of companies, and their inherent properties are critical to preventing damage to properties adjacent to fumigation operations," said Bill Corbett, manager of KTA-Tator Inc.'s professional services unit and a member of D01.
Corbett added that "despite the above, there is no standardized procedure to evaluate whether these coatings possess the qualities of Dry Fall, so once it has been approved, this proposal will be used to evaluate the properties of Dry Fall before its large-scale use."
