Europe. Scientists at the UK Science and Technology Laboratory are developing a chemical attack paint ideal for military vehicles, which can absorb the agents of a chemical attack and decontaminate itself. This new development is based on camouflage paint that can be removed from vehicles, providing temporary concealment that protects those inside the car.
According to Steve Mitchel, who leads the research, these coatings will initially absorb chemical weapons agents, but the purpose of the laboratory is to create a layer that changes color to identify that it is contaminated, so that it is decontaminated and can return to its original color when clean.
Camouflage paint can change color to hide in certain places such as the desert, as well as alter flashes of light to hide the vehicle from enemy troops.
The application of this coating is carried out like that of a normal paint, using atomizing guns, brush or roller.
