Iranian scientists managed to synthesize the waterproof coatings by nanoclays.The Iranian Nanotechnology Initiative Council and the Iranian Institute of Polymers and Petrochemistry were the realizers of the project aimed at producing impermeable layers, through the polymerization and mini-emulsion of water-based nanocomposites containing nanoclays.
These water-based coatings, which are nanohybrids of polymers and nanoclays, have an appropriate and resistant thermal module, impermeable to water, lipid vapor and can be used in the packaging industry.
