Brazil. AkzoNobel announced the transfer of its decorative paint production plant, located on the Raposo Tavares Highway, in São Paulo, to its plant in Mauá, in that same province.According to the company, the move to the Mauá plant that also belongs to the ICI group will take place gradually. This year the production of paints and coatings will be moved, while that of resins will be done in 2010.

With the restructuring, the company expands the excellence of the processes and generates greater competition for its products, always with the use of new technologies," the company said in a statement.
Company spokesmen confirmed to INPRA LATINA that on Thursday there were some protests on the outskirts of the company, but that the problem was overcome towards the end of the morning.
Likewise, they assured that "due to the transfer, AkzoNobel announces to the employees who work in the Raposo Tavares a voluntary resignation program." In the coming days, the company will issue a statement on the matter, because according to the spokesmen, no interviews are being granted to the press.
