Buy Akzo

Europe. Akzo Nobel N.V., Amsterdam, The Netherlands, has finalized the sale of its Adhesives and Electronic Materials businesses, which are part of ICI's initial National Starch business, to Henkel KGaA for £2.7 billion (€4 billion).  The agreement to sell the Adhesives and Electronic Materials business to Henkel was announced when Akzo Nobel made its bid for the ICI Group in August 2007.   The transaction was subject to the termination of Akzo Nobel's bid by ICI and approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.  Both conditions have now been met.
