Latin America. Comex was recognized in the "Exceptional Practice" category for its ECO product line, this as a result of a focus on innovation in the coatings manufacturing industry and at the same time, for contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The ECO line is made up of seven products with a sustainable approach, distributed between vinyl, enamels and waterproofing. These products are designed to take care of both the environment and people's health, by reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and, in the case of vinyl paints, by being formulated without APEOS, polluting chemicals. In addition, the enamels and waterproofing incorporate recycled materials, such as tire rubber and PET, which contributes to the reduction of waste without compromising the quality of the product.
Best practices
They also have waterproofing agents that help boost energy efficiency in homes and buildings through their thermal insulation properties. This allows reducing the electricity consumption of Mexican families and buildings.
In the category of Good Practices, Comex was recognized for its social impact program México Bien Hecho (MBH), which has been distinguished for generating positive change in various communities through social initiatives and the renovation of public spaces that contribute to improving the quality of life.
So far, the program has benefited 27 million people by transforming their environments, strengthening the social fabric with workshops focused on inclusion, a sense of belonging, and coexistence. According to an impact study carried out by the consulting firm Riskop, 88% of inhabitants perceive an increase in security and the influx to these public spaces has grown by 25%.
