Argentina. Paclín, a 40-year-old SME from Cordoba in the market, became the first company in the world in the field of paints to be certified as a B Company.
Paclín is run by the three sons of its founder, Roberto Haefeli. In conversation with national media, one of them, Federico Haefeli, commercial director of the company, said: "We are aware of our size as such and understand that from our place we can generate a positive impact and we can, not probably be the best paint factory in the world, but be a better paint factory for the world. "
To achieve this certification, the company carried out a cultural awareness process that lasted four years. "This process was rigorously monitored and analyzed at each stage until achieving the final certification with 81.4 points," Haefeli said.
The company is in the process of modernizing its solvent plant. According to Haefeli, this translates into reducing production times from four hours on average, which is the time it primarily takes for quality adjustments, to 40 minutes.
"This implies a process of technological adoption," says Federico, who says that in partnership with the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) seeks to access a loan to buy the necessary equipment and machinery.
Paclín is located in the Villa Esquiú neighborhood, in the northeast of the city of Córdoba, where it has two plants: one solvent-based and another water-based, as well as a deposit for its more than 1500 products.
Currently, the company employs 100 people and has a national distribution network of more than 200 stores in 12 provinces of Argentina, in addition to the attention of 10,000 customers through its distributor channel. In addition, it exports products to Bolivia and Paraguay.
