International. Green Seal certification indicates that a paint or coating product is safer for people and the planet than similar products while providing unmatched performance.
HPDC and Green Seal announce that Green Seal is now an approved health product declaration (HPD) preparer and third-party verifier and will prepare and verify HPD free of charge for any manufacturer seeking Green Seal paint certification.
Green Seal is a non-profit organization that develops environmental standards and certification programs for products and services based on performance, health and sustainability criteria.
"Green Seal is thrilled to partner with HPD Collaborative. Now, specifying Green Seal-certified paints and coatings is like pushing the easy button to find products that fully align with LEED v4.1 and meet industry-leading standards for transparency, material health and functional performance," said Green Seal CEO Doug Gatlin.
HPDC CEO Wendy Vittori said, "Green Seal and HPDC have teamed up to streamline and simplify the entire data, certification and transparency process for manufacturers, starting with the paint product category."
HPDC is a non-profit organization that administers the construction industry's leading open standard specification, the Health Product Statement (HPD) for manufacturers to accurately, reliably, and consistently report product contents and associated health information.
With this new partnership, Green Seal-certified paint manufacturers receive additional exposure for their products through publication in HPD's public repository, dissemination of the safest product formulations, and compliance with LEED and WELL certification criteria.
Green Seal certified paints automatically qualify for points for LEED v4.1 low-emission materials credit.
