Latin America. This draft standard establishes the information that the transport document must contain, relating among others to the declarations that the consignor makes for its transportation, whether by sea, air or land.
On September 7, in the Official Gazette of the Federation was published the draft standard "PROY-NOM-043-SCT-SEMAR-ARTF-2022", document of transport of dangerous goods that cancels the "NOM-043-SCT-2003 - Document of shipment of substances, materials and hazardous waste".
This draft standard establishes the information that the Transport Document must contain, relating to the official designation of transport, identification of dangerous goods, the dangers of these and the declarations that the consignor makes for their journey; either by sea, air or land.
The consignor is obliged to provide the carrier with information relating to the dangerous goods to be moved. However, this version includes the traditional way (paper information) and the innovation of presenting the information electronically in a free format, as long as all the specifications are met.
Among the requirements are:
a.) Description of dangerous goods.
b.) Additional information to the official transport designation.
c.) Necessary information in addition to the description of dangerous goods.
1. Total quantity of dangerous goods
2. Limited quantities.
3. Relief packaging.
4. Classification where data are available to assist the
identification and protection in the event of an accident.
(d) Declaration of the appropriate designation and complete classification of the substance, signed and dated.
e) Certificate of grinding of the container/vehicle.
f) Conservation of information for at least 3 months.
