International. More than 70 volunteers contributed to the New Paint for a New Start initiative that brought a colorful makeover to Tri-Cities High School in Georgia.
Student-designed murals were a focal point of the day, and participants used some of PPG's most popular paint colors to bring their works to life. Tri-Cities High School hallways will be fashionable thanks to the use of PPG's 2022 Colorful Communities color palette, which includes 2022 Color of the Year Olive Spring (PPG1125-4), Golden Hour (PPG1214-6) and Juniper Berry (PPG1145-6).
In addition to providing paint and sundries for the project, the PPG Foundation will donate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) supplies for students to use in the upcoming school year.
The Colorful Communities project received support as part of PPG's most recent initiative: New Paint for a New Start. With this program, PPG employees around the world volunteer their time throughout July to transform more than 25 schools.
Using PPG's paint products and color expertise, each project aims to create engaging spaces for students to learn and grow.
"Tri-Cities High School is so grateful for the hard work that went into this beautiful transformation," said Tri-Citie High School Principal Dr. Ethel Lett.
Tri-Cities High School serves more than 1,500 students in grades 9-12 and strives to transform its teen students into citizens prepared for college or a career in which they are empowered to change the world.
"Through our global Colorful Communities program, PPG paint can make life-changing differences by protecting and beautifying special places in our lives, and East Point is that special place," said Scott Bartlett, vice president of Global Architectural Coating Operations at PPG.
"The goal was to create engaging spaces for students to learn and grow, and I'm sure this team succeeded."
