Mexico. PPG Indutries Mexico confirmed the start-up of the expansion of its plant located in San Juan del Río, Querétaro, which will have an investment of more than US$27 million and will increase its productivity and development in the region.
The plant, with which they built four sustainable buildings that integrate ecological designs, will focus on the manufacture of paints and coatings for automotive, industrial, metal packaging, as well as automotive repainting. In addition, this new extension will allow the generation of 180 new jobs.
"The Monarch Project is a response to the growth of the industry in the automotive sector, which has had a constant development in recent years that is reflected in the number of assembly plants installed in the country, a number that will be doubled with the plants that will arrive in the period 2018-2020," said the director of Automotive Coatings and Original Parts for Latin America, Miguel Martinez.
This action of the multinational company comes after the confirmation that the Mexican car market could be among the top five in the world in the coming years, as a result of the growth that the automotive sector has had in that country.
