Venezuela. The Orbis Group, through its brand Venezolana de Pinturas, participates with its products in the work of the Mercosur Bridge (Third bridge over the Orinoco River) is a road-rail transport infrastructure that has been built since the end of 2006.
The structure rises in the region of Guayana, south of Venezuela and will unite the towns of Caicara del Orinoco, Cedeño Municipality in Bolívar state and Cabruta, Las Mercedes Municipality in Guárico state. According to the Group's statement, it is the second largest bridge in Latin America and the 38th in the world.
The company in charge of the work is the Brazilian Odebrecht. The work is a mixed structure of steel and concrete and a two-story bridge is projected, with a modern design, four circulation channels, with two diamond-shaped towers 145 m high, 20.2 m wide and a total length of 11.13 kilometers.
The structures of the III Bridge over the Orinoco River, are being painted with products of the firm in the facilities of Vhicoa (Venezuelan Heavy Industries, C.A.). The products applied in this work are Interzinc 22, Intertuf 262 and Interthane 990. It is estimated that the work will be delivered at the end of this year.
