Certify your competitiveness

There are many threats that a painting company faces today in the market: illegality, strong competition for price, good quality, rising costs of raw materials, etc. You have to be very creative to stay afloat and compete in local markets but with a global vision.

Although the price of oil has climbed to unimagined levels, it is not feasible to say that the business is not feasible because we would be giving up the ability to innovate. Adapting to change is one of the strengths that companies have to develop in our globalized world because you never know for sure who you will compete with tomorrow. Within this context, improving the day-to-day competitiveness and productivity of paint companies is not only equivalent to reducing costs to increase margins or producing more volume.

Competing today means having a structure within the company, prepared for change, innovation and productivity. This is achieved when work methodologies are organized and unified in each of the areas: production, administration, marketing, distribution, etc.

Therefore, it is essential that organizations certify all their processes as a strategy to develop long-term competitive advantages with a view to better meeting the needs of customers.

According to Juan Jasinski, manager of powder coatings at the Argenina company Riopint, "Unlike what many people think, the ISO standard does not talk about quality but provides the elements so that you have a good management of your quality. I can have a product of not very good quality and be certified by ISO. The standard certifies how I made it and so I can give the customer a continuity of product. We benefit from the fact that if the customer is satisfied they keep buying from me."

Certification therefore opens the doors to customer trust and future businesses. It is advisable then to put the house in order before going out to visit the neighbor.
