Latin America. The fifth version of the Surface Finishing Mexico 2022 meant a reunion of the leaders and experts of the surface finishes and coatings industry in Mexico this week.
The organization was run by the Mexican Association of Surface Finishing Industrialists (AMAS). As stated by the managing director of the association, Ruth Rodríguez, during the last two years it had a sustained growth of 50% of the number of its members to reach 124 affiliated companies.
This was reported by the 90 exhibitors of the fair, many of them from the national industry, to which representatives from Asia and Europe joined.
From the first day of the event, which took place between July 25 and 27 at the Exhibition and Convention Center (Cintermex) in Monterrey (Mexico), attendees found the latest in products and technologies necessary to carry out the finishing and coating processes demanded by the fastest growing industrial sectors in the country.
The expo began with a comprehensive course in electroplating by Jean Dematos, belonging to the World Wide Plating Consulting (WWP), a platform that teaches the operation of surface finishing processes on the scientific basis of electrochemistry.
Dematos, who has 40 years of professional experience in the field of surface finishes in the area of mechanics, automotive, electronics and aeronautics, gave technical training in application methodologies and problem solving for professionals experienced in electroplating.
Dematos, who teaches at the University of Limoges and The University of Besançon, addressed the techniques that can be applied to processes, the use of pulsed current coating, as well as numerical simulation and other techniques that can be applied to help improve the efficiency of the coating through the control of the distribution of thicknesses.
This was one of the specialized courses held on the first two days of the exhibition.
The next day the business meeting, the technical sessions on the floor and the traditional networking event were held.
