Pre-painting process, with a good future in renewable energies
International. The coating application technique for various industries known as Coil Coating is now being used to be applied in coatings that help capture the power of the sun.
It is used to apply selective absorption coatings to aluminum strips for thermal energy applications in solar power plants. The process provides the precise layers of coatings, necessary for high-performance solar absorption coatings.
According to the news published on the portal www.pcimag.com when using the Coil Coating process , thin coatings can be applied uniformly to a metal band, so that a highly selective coating and several functional layers will be applied in precise and thin layers.
Functional coating often includes nanoparticles, metal particles, metal oxide particles and pigments. Every coating has a job. For example, a layer can absorb shortwave solar radiation while becoming transparent to long-wave radiant heat. The result is a conduction of shortwave solar radiation converted into long-wave radiant heat, so that the absorption plate is heated as needed.
The outer layers can be reflective for radiant heat and thus the absorbent coating emits little heat to the outside. Additional coating layers provide moisture and temperature resistance against corrosion. Other layers provide adhesion properties, which substantially improve the strength of the coating in the intense sun.
According to the note, the Coil Coating process makes it possible to produce absorbent panels at a much lower cost than previous necessary processes such as PVD and CVD.
