International. Dymax, a manufacturer of photocuring materials and equipment, announces that its AR conformal coating, 9771, has completed rigorous qualification testing for military specification MIL-I-46058C.
This dual curing coating recognized by UL94V0 and UL746E has also been approved according to the IPC-CC-830B standard and fully complies with RoHS 2 2015/863/EU directives.
The MIL-I-46058C standard establishes compliance requirements for conforming coatings and evaluates them based on an extensive list of properties, including curing time and temperature, material thickness, moisture resistance, fungal resistance, insulation resistance, flexibility, hydrolytic stability, and flame resistance.
9771 is now listed in the DOD QPL (Qualified Product Listing) database to let military manufacturers know it is approved.
Along with this important recognition, the 9771 coating passes NASA's ASTM E595 low-outgassing specification for cleaner PCBs during extreme conditions and meets low-ionic compliance with the 5011 Mil-Std 883 method.
In addition, 9771 is included in NASA's MAPTIS list and has been assigned the material number 09841, so suppliers looking for coatings with low outgassing can easily find them in the database.
Dymax 9771 conformal coating is 100% solid with a blue fluorescent marker. This high-performance, dual-cure reworkable conformal coating cures with ultraviolet light and visible light and moisture in shaded areas.
