International. Nouryon announces that it has joined Together for Sustainability (TfS), a global initiative of 47 chemical companies committed to raising sustainability standards across the chemical industry.
As part of the initiative, members commit to sustainability improvements in their own operations and those of their suppliers.
"Nouryon's membership with TfS will enhance our supplier auditing capabilities and access to industry best practices," said Nouryon's Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer Stephen Hester.
"We anticipate that our customers and business partners will also appreciate the value our TfS membership will bring, as it will further enhance our ability to improve sustainability in our supply chain," he commented.
TfS is also advancing methodologies and standardization in the calculation of Scope 3 (upstream) greenhouse gas emissions, which make up a significant part of the chemical industry's carbon footprint.
"Sustainability is a key priority for Nouryon, and we continually challenge ourselves to improve our sustainability performance," said Nouryon Vice President and Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer Vivi Hollertt.
"We look forward to working closely with TfS and its members to create solutions and share knowledge and expertise across the value chain," he said.
TfS supports and promotes the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and Responsible Care.
