Mexico. The world's largest plant of International Navistar de Mexico, manufacturer of tractor-trailers, medium, light and chassis for buses in America, is located in the city of General Escobedo in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico.
There, the expansion of its cabin paint area was inaugurated, in which Navistar will invest 120 million dollars.
According to company executives, state-of-the-art robots and processes that do not require water will be used in the paint area for the management of paint waste. In this line, new technologies will be implemented for the development of more environmentally friendly processes.
Representatives of the company pointed out that current sealing treatments require curing ovens to perform their function, which will be replaced with seals that dry the environment.
This will reduce the number of furnaces Navistar uses in its processes, and therefore save energy.
The project consists of different phases that begin with the diagnosis of the scope and integration of the structure, then the construction of the building that will house the painting area, and finally at the beginning of 2026 all the processes must be implemented.
In the act of unveiling the commemorative plaque was the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, together with his Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas, as well as the mayor of Escobedo, Andrés Mijes.
