The monomer polymerizes in the presence of radicals (formed by peroxides or induced radiation). It has excellent thermal stability and chemical resistance. It does not hydrolyze in the presence of water or acidic media and also has excellent alkaline stability.
Additionally, it is used as a coagent in the crosslinking of elastomer peroxide such as HNBR, EPM, EPDM, EVA, CR, TPE ́s and thermoplastic materials such as PE and FKM. It can also be used as a coagent for electrons.
It is highlighted that it reduces curing times, increases cross-linking density and leads to lower permanent compression deformation and better aging properties.
It is also used as a reactive diluent for chemical-resistant radiation-curable coatings.
