International. Michael Stulberg, new commercial director for marine coatings and protectors, brings to the role extensive experience in sales and product management for the U.S. and international markets as a result of 25 years in the oil and gas industry.
Most recently, Stulberg served as Director of Sales at Weatherford International. There he was responsible for business growth, driving high-level profitability, sales and market expansion, including managing a technical and sales team in North America.
The new role will make Stulber responsible for leading sales and profitability, driving the customer's focus around the business purpose of "People. Planet. Painting' and managing the gains and losses of protective and marine coatings in line with strategic initiatives and mandates.
'People. Planet. Paint.' is AkzoNobel's mission to make a real impact in a changing world and deliver the sustainable and innovative solutions trusted by customers, communities and the planet.
As part of the Navy, Protection and Yacht Leadership team, Stulberg will report directly to Simon Parker, director of MPY Coatings.
His appointment comes as AkzoNobel puts sustainability at the heart of its operations through four key commitments for 2030: generating more than 50% of revenue from sustainable solutions; halve their own carbon emissions and those of the entire value chain (from a 2018 baseline); produce 100 % circular waste in operations; empower 100,000 members of local communities with new skills.
