International. During the Labelexpo Americas 2022 held last week, the multinational exhibited its full range of non-stick silicone coatings and acrylic adhesives.
According to the company, attendees at the show were able to see how Dow's portfolio of high-speed release coatings is pushing the boundaries of sustainable silicone-based labeling technologies.
"With the demand for self-adhesive labels on the rise, it is critical that the labeling industry continues to look for opportunities to improve production efficiency, including increasing conversion speeds," the company said in a statement.
Current coating speeds may exceed 1,000 meters per minute and will remain faster, but trying to maintain these faster speeds is not without its challenges.
Dow's high-speed release coating solutions are future-proof up to 1,300 meters per minute and enable faster production rates with lower curing temperatures, stronger anchoring and reduced misting to enable greater efficiency and reduce downtime.
"While performance is certainly a critical element of our high-speed release coatings, so is sustainability. At Dow we are committed not only to reducing our environmental footprint, but also to helping our customers do the same using safer materials that will help drive a circular economy," said Eden Drier, market development manager at Dow Pressure Sensitive Industries.
"This powerful combination of performance and sustainability can be found in our existing range of labeling solutions, as well as in future solutions that we partner with our customers to develop," he added.
