International. Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation will increase prices on selected parts of their color material portfolio effective July 1, 2022, or as contracts permit. The price increase affects all market segments.
With no signs of relief, rising costs of key raw materials and packaging components persist, as well as inflationary pressure on manufacturing operations. Energy and logistics costs remain at historically high levels, and uncertainties due to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine and COVID-19-related lockdowns in China are negatively affecting global value and supply chains.
The ongoing escalations make it necessary for the company to increase the prices of several product lines in its portfolio of pigments, dyes and preparations. The price increases are in addition to those previously announced, including energy and transportation surcharges.
"Sun Chemical values the relationship we have with our business partners, and we are working tirelessly to keep our cost factors in check and provide maximum value to our customers," said Stefan Sütterlin, President of Sun Chemical Color Materials.
"We regret having to take this step, but current market conditions require us to further adjust our prices to continue our operations. We are monitoring this situation and will make adjustments accordingly," Sütterlin added.
Sun Chemical will communicate specific increases directly to its customers. Customers who have questions can contact their local Sun Chemical sales representative.
