Mexico. The National Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Inks (Anafapyt), an institution that brings together manufacturers of paints, coatings in general, inks for printing and related products, celebrated last Wednesday, September 26, 75 years of its foundation. It was on September 26, 1944, when a group of businessmen constituted the National Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Inks, with 14 companies as members. Today, it brings together more than 80% of the country's national production of paints and inks.
This is how Anafapyt, throughout its 75 years at the service of its associates, has managed to highlight the impact of this industry on the development of other productive industries in the country such as construction and automotive. It has also managed to be a link between producer and supplier partners throughout the supply chain to enhance the efforts of the guild, as well as to be a reference for the development of standards, technological dissemination and national technical training.
"Our commitment has been to watch, defend and represent the general and particular interests of our associates, as well as the consumer public and users, in favor of the economic development of Mexico. Today, we celebrate our 75th anniversary of supporting the industry and entrepreneurs, as well as the new generations of the country. Our work will continue to focus on promoting the economic and social development of Mexico, through the promotion of the national industry. We will continue to strengthen the links between the business, government, workers, as well as academic sectors, technological development, research and environmental care," said Victor Leal, president of Anafapyt.
The role of coatings is of great importance, as their impact is on the protection and economic value they add to the most important assets. Virtually every man-made product has a coating to maintain its usefulness and value.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of its foundation, Anafapyt held with great success last June the Expo Latin American Coatings Show, one of the most important events for the paint and coating industry in Mexico and Latin America.
