Colombia. The eighth version of Cubrecol Américas covered all expectations for both attendees and exhibitors and for two days sharing with specialists in the field of application and finishing of paints and coatings.
The 2011 edition was attended by 150 attendees of the Academic Program, more than 630 visitors, 16 exhibiting companies, 20 speakers.
Julián Restrepo, who gave the talk Nanotechnology, commented that "the guests were of a high level, concerned about knowing new things, their interventions in the talk contributed a lot to the information we wanted to make known. This type of event allows to solve many of the problems they have in their respective companies.
For Fernando Cerrillo, from Promat – Invesa, and who presented the talk Passive protection against fire according to new alternatives, he commented on the objective of his talk that "it is important that people begin to become aware of the products they use for fire protection, sometimes we think that there are solutions that are supposedly very expensive and that save time, money and lives. In Latin America there is still a very reactive culture, you invest in post-disaster accessories such as hoses, fire extinguishers that are important but with paints that are not flammable."
Likewise, the attendees showed their satisfaction with the quality of the talks given and the way in which the program is summarized. For example, Ana Carolina Restrepo, from Antek, commented that "I really liked the format in which the conferences were divided by category, it was a very profitable congress for my professional performance".
Meanwhile, Gonzálo Suárez, from Andercol, said in this regard that "it seems to me that very topical issues are being addressed that greatly enrich technology in the area of coatings."
