Bayer MaterialScience developed Bayhydrol® UV XP 2689, an ultraviolet curing dispersion of polyurethane, used as a coating that helps keep the paint of mobile phones and electronic equipment as new for much longer. Beyond providing a better and more durable finish to the equipment, the new coatings are environmentally friendly because they do not use solvents and the application is efficient and very profitable.
With the second new resin, Bayhydrol® XP UV 2736, coatings can be formulated for use on plastic, fabric and other flexible substrates, where it offers optimal adhesion and excellent mechanical strength. In particular, Bayhydrol® UV XP 2736 can also be used in conjunction with other UV curing dispersions to increase the flexibility and elasticity of the resulting coating.
